Grapefruit is one of those fruits that can easily be used in sweet and savory dishes. Once you try it this way you’ll be hooked. It’s the perfect breakfast, snack or dessert if you’re feel like having something sweet. The possibilities are endless. Add this to your yoghurt and granola for breakfast or add a scoop of your favorite ice cream for dessert. Delicious.
- Optional: brown sugar or honey or maple syrup
Mise en place*
- Cut the grapefruit in half and loosen the segments but running a knife around them. Make sure you don’t stick your knife in too deep that you make a whole otherwise all the juices will run out.
Where the magic happens
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and if you like add sweetener of your choice.
- Put under grill for 8 minutes or until brown
*Mise en place is a term used in cooking which when translated means “putting in place.” These are all the preparations that are done before cooking can take place. I put this in a different section because not only will it save you time and stress, but it helps in decreasing mistakes during cooking.
